Koinonia was founded in 1952 and the current structure was built in 1994.  Koinonia is a self-governed Christian cooperative sponsored by the Baptist Housing Ministry at the University of Illinois. Students from many Christian backgrounds call Koinonia "home" during their college years. 

Koinonia men can be serious about their faith, serious about their studies, and yet still don’t forget to have lots of fun. Koinonia offers various intramural sports opportunities, and has many social functions with our sister house – Stratford Christian Cooperative.  We are substance-free and offer double and triple air conditioned rooms. Koinonia is located on-campus, only 3 1/2 blocks from the U of I Quad, and on the campus bus route. The house is open all year and provides amenities such as a large screen tv/movie room, and high speed internet.  Parking is available for an additional fee.
